  • For 4 people :
  • 1 kg of potatoes
  • 3 quarts of milk
  • 25 cl of liquid cream
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 pinch of grated nutmeg
  • 20 g of butter
  • salt
  • mill pepper.


Peel and wash the potatoes. With a mandolin, cut them into slices 2 mm thick. In a saucepan, boil the cream and milk, then add the potatoes. Season with salt and pepper, add the nutmeg and 1 clove of chopped garlic. Cook for 10 minutes over low heat. Remove from heat and let stand 10 min. Drain the cooked potatoes. Rub a gratin dish with the second clove of garlic and butter it. Add the potato gratin and add the milk-cream mixture. Put on top of small pieces of very cold butter. Bake at 240 ° C and brown.
